What’s the difference between ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis?
UF removes particles, bacteria, and turbidity by physical size (down to 0.02 microns) and significantly reduces viruses, while leaving dissolved minerals and salts in the water. RO goes further, removing dissolved solids and salts at the ionic level — but it uses more energy and produces reject water. UF is often used as pre-treatment ahead of RO. If you’re not sure which you need, a specialist will help you decide.
